The Hedy Lamarr

We have named our fall cocktail (a spiced up play on the sidecar) after Austrian born actress (and scientist, apparently), Hedy Lamarr. How is this fitting? Well, the combination of rum based Austrian liqueur, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, which is infused with dried Jamaican allspice berries, combined with cognac, fresh lemon, egg whites and dusting of fresh cardamom proves to be as intoxicating as Lamarr’s Hollywood debut in Algiers, 1938.

for the Hedy Lamarr
shake in a iced cocktail shaker and strain, up
1 1/2 oz Brandy or Cognac VS
juice of 1/2 a lemon
1/2 an egg white (optional)
1/2 oz St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
rim dusting of fresh cardamom, sugar, lemon zest
