tkdWe knew we had an unfair advantage when we started this site.  Northern California provides us with everything we need to work with, being one of the most biodiverse,  and food rich areas in the country, most of which comes from within a hundred miles of where we live.  It was easy from the get go to establish a kitchen setting that translated what we want food to be: simple, seasonal and sustainable.

Curtis and I met while working at neighboring restaurants blocks away from each other.  He in the kitchen,  and I in the front of the house.  After long days of directing the daily ‘ballet’ of sorts, we would sit at his restaurant’s bar and decompress while sharing a few stories.  We knew that we shared a similar philosophy when it came time to eat…If your Great Grandmother wouldn’t recognize it as food, then you probably shouldn’t eat it.  As much as our livelihoods have depended on people eating out, we know that it is more important than ever for people to be comfortable, and creative in the home kitchen.  With The Kitchen Daily, we have chosen to highlight the basics, and create recipes that translate to using ingredients locally produced, and seasonal to your area, as well as take a closer look at our local sources by visiting with the farmers and artisans who have delivered such wonderful product.
